We will visit beloved local yarn shops filled with unique fibers, colors, and European treasures you won’t find at home. The highlight of the tour is an intimate, private presentation with world-renowned knitting instructor Nancy Marchant, known for her pioneering work in brioche knitting—an inspiring experience you won’t soon forget.

Itinerary
Sunday, August 2nd: Dutch Countryside Tour and Canal Dinner Cruise
9:00 am Board our luxury bus for the Dutch Countryside & Windmills tour
Prepare for a wonderful first day in the Netherlands, exploring the peaceful and authentic countryside north of Amsterdam.
We will visit:
- The cheese town of Edam for a leisurely stroll and lunch stop
- The charming village of Marken
- A tradional cheese and clog producer for demonstrations and tastings
- The windmills of Schermerhorn and a delightful drive through the De Beemster
This is a relaxed full-day experience to enjoy Dutch landscapes, heritage, and local life.
6:00 pm After arriving at our hotel and taking some time to rest, we will enjoy a luxury 2.5-hour canal dinner cruise through Amsterdam’s UNESCO World Heritage canal belt – the most enchanting way to see the city and the perfect first-night experience.
We will be sailing aboard a beautiful classic saloon boat with a captain and host, enjoying a freshly prepared 3-course dinner as the city lights reflect on the canals. It’s the best way to get familiar with Amsterdam.
Monday, August 3rd: Amsterdam Highlights & Yarn Shop Visits
9:00am A relaxed and engaging private walking tour through Amsterdam’s most charming neighborhoods. We will explore the Jordaan, Canal Ring, and Royal Palace area – discovering hidden courtyards, beautiful bridges, and a daily local life.
After lunch we will visit two iconic yarn shops in the Browersgracht neighborhood and have an opportunity to shop for local specialty yarns.
Late afternoon: Optional visit to the Anne Frank House (self-guided). We can book tickets for your visit at your expense.
Evening: Dinner at your leisure in this delightful neighborhood full of restaurants of all types. We are happy to make recommendations.
Tuesday, August 4th: Art, Food & a Knitting Legend
9:00am Museum tour. A must for all art lovers. We will have an expert guided tour of the hightlights of the Rijksmuseum.
After the museum tour we will enjoy a walking food tour through the lively De Pijp, Amsterdam’s culinary hotspot and home to the Albert Cuyp Market. You’ll sample traditional Dutch treats — cheese, stroopwafels, poffertjes, herring, and more — and see local textile and fabric stalls among the many colorful offerings of the market.
After lunch we will return to the hotel for an afternoon presentation by the talented Nancy Marchant.
On our final evening, we’ll gather for a relaxed farewell dinner. We’ll toast new friendships, savor the memories we’ve made together, and end the journey feeling full in every sense of the word.
Wednesday, August 5th: Fond Farewells
On our final morning in Amsterdam, we gather one last time for breakfast to share stories, reflect on the past few days, and enjoy a final moment together with new friends.
After breakfast, the tour comes to a close and we will all depart, heading home or onward to new adventures—carrying with us memories of canals, windmills, beautiful yarns, and the creative inspiration sparked along the way.
